Music From Karver's Korner: Karvin' Up A Storm

by Andrew Doss

/
1.
Yeah, we karvin' up a storm From the rugged mountains of Ellijay There came a bearded man He was lookin’ for a black walnut log With a chainsaw in his hand Everyone knew when he came around He’d leave a sight to see An old man’s face with deep-set eyes In the side of a big ol’ tree Some people called him crazy While others just ran and hid And sometimes you’d even hear screams When he carved the things he did But even though you’d see him laugh At givin’ them all a sight It was only just a matter of time before He’d carve his own fright Yeah, we karvin' up a storm Aww, look out You know that saw was buzzing, wood was flyin' There was sawdust on the floor You could see the terror in his face As he was runnin' for the door Then a thunder strike came down from the sky And the logs were split in two And you could hear him yellin’ all through them woods Sumthin’s comin’ after YOU Yeah, we karvin' up a storm He was karvin' up a storm
2.
Beware the witch who lives in the wood You know she's always up to no good
3.
4.
Troll Food 03:58
Listen for the sounds from underground Trick-or-Treating is not just for kids Trolls need food, too Troll food, that is
5.
Ghoul's Gaze 03:35
The fear consumes you in a wave As this thing rises from its grave The hands pushing the stones away Nothing can save you from this ghoul's gaze
6.
Bonfires and devil's flames Dance the beings with fiendish names Before they go to war at night They'll dance a jig and scare with fright
7.
Your grandmother's old toy box from centuries ago Has always held your fascination so Until one night, when you're all alone You open the door, and never come home
8.
Angry Ogre 03:30
Your foolish ways have set the stage And bursting forth in a shocking rage The ogre's anger was kept at bay But now he's awake, and there's hell to pay
9.
Do you feel those faces staring back at you Their eyes follow you the whole night through But things look different in the light of day Just never try to run away
10.
Skull 03:51
Sitting on a pedestal of stone The human skull stares at you alone The more you gaze into its eyes Into your soul its darkness flies
11.
Jack-o-lanterns won't carve themselves Got pumpkins aplenty, that’s for sure So when the time is right, you’ll come to see the sights Oh won’t you spend some time a’shoppin’ while the wood is choppin’ Bears and things - delightful Halloween Ghouls and goblins watching you go by and talking See that witch, I think that she might fly No stoppin’ trolls and friends from wavin’ back at you For savin’ up for this, their most important day Pumpkin time As you feel your bones shake with fear Take care, and we'll scare you next year
